Based on our poll about design choices, design A (cylinder shape) won by a long shot. This makes sense, as it takes up the least room on a counter top. We’re excited, and have already begun re-engineering the internals to fit better in the vertical cylinder format. We’ve hit a bit of a snag though.
We can’t agree on exactly how to store the hose when not in use. The most affordable solution is the classic “cave-like” hollow in the base, where we can fit the coil nicely (front and side view):
The alternative is to include a door. We’ve already built and tested a new prototype housing which includes the door, only adding the additional step of needing to close the door when done. The door opens by itself when you pull on the handle. You can see it demonstrated in the gif below.
With this version, it would add expense to the Instafloss, but we can’t be sure how much it will cost without first getting a quote for manufacturing. Before getting that quote, we leave the question to you as to whether or not this version is worth it.
